Child & Teen Therapy in Surrey, BC

When a child or teenager is struggling emotionally or behaviourally, it can affect the whole family. You may notice increased anxiety, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, school challenges, or difficulty coping with change. I offer in-person counselling for children and adolescents in Surrey, grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based practice and tailored to your child’s age, developmental stage, and lived experience.

Therapy sessions may include play, expressive arts, open discussion and exploration, and skill development—all designed to help children explore their feelings, thoughts, and relationships. Sometimes there will be ‘homework’ assigned, which parents can be actively involved in too. I work alongside you and your child to foster their psychological wellbeing and improve family relationships.

Therapy can be helpful for:

  • Anxiety, fears, or excessive worry

  • Emotional outbursts or difficulty regulating emotions

  • Behavioural changes at home or school

  • Low mood or withdrawal

  • Adjustment to family changes (separation, illness, moves)

  • Grief and loss

  • Social difficulties or low self-esteem

  • Stress related to school or peer relationships

  • Effects of trauma or overwhelming experiences

You do not need to wait for concerns to become severe. Early support can help prevent challenges from becoming more entrenched.

How Child & Teen Therapy Helps:

Therapy can help your child or teen:

  • Understand and express emotions safely

  • Develop emotion regulation and coping skills

  • Build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem

  • Strengthen relationships at home and school

Caregivers are included as appropriate to support progress beyond the therapy room.
